Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation is looking for an Assistant in Fundraising and Communications to join us as soon as possible at our research bases located in the islands of Samos and Lipsi in Greece, and on board the research boat.

MISSION
Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to researching and defending the biodiversity of the Greek seas and islands, as well as the entire eastern Mediterranean.
Since its creation in 1998, Archipelagos has been focusing on the combination of multidisciplinary scientific research and efficient conservation work in which local communities play an active part.
This strategic cooperation enables and strengthens Archipelagos' actions at local, national and European level, allowing it to protect aquatic and terrestrial life against ever-increasing human destructive activities.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The job will have primary day-to-day oversight and responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing of fund-related activities including fundraising, communications with partners, and forecasting.

RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES
- Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors
- Identify and contact potential donors
- Use online platforms to raise donations
- Organize and design nawareness and educational campaigns and events
- Maintain records of donor information
- Train and supervise volunteers in fundraising procedures and practices
- Communications with partners for conservation projects

KNOWLEDGE + ABILITIES
- Excellent strategic planning skills with the ability to improve the mission of Archipelagos through the implementation of research grant and external partnerships.
- Excellent computer skills
- Experience managing and training students and/or volunteers
- Demonstrated leadership, supervision and team building skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to write scientific reports and papers
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Greek (optional)
- Sincere interest in issues related to the protection of the environment
- Willingness to occasionally work during weekends and holidays
- Valid international drivers license or Greek drivers license

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE
- Master Degree in the fields of economy, marketing and business, communication or public relations
- Previous experience creating and managing multi-media and marketing content and fundraising campaign in a professional setting
